Internet component added to 10th annual National Teachers Hall of Fame auction
EMPORIA, Kan. – This year, NTHF supporters from across the country can participate in the 10th annual KVOE-AM 1400 live radio auction benefitting The National Teachers Hall of Fame thanks to E-bay, an Internet auction site. The KVOE/Hall of Fame radio auction will be held from 6:05 - 10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15. Proceeds of the auction benefit the programs and activities of the Hall of Fame, established in 1989 to honor Pre-K-12 teachers and the teaching profession.
Next week (Nov. 5-11), 10 items will be up for bid on E-bay, an Internet auction site, to increase national participation and visibility for the Hall of Fame. Those interested in bidding on the E-bay items first must register as a buyer (no charge) at www.ebay.com.
The items up for bid on E-bay include:
1) An Autographed George Strait cowboy hat
2) Motivational tape and books series by NTHF NJ Inductee Rich Ruffalo
3) University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football signed by head coach Bob Davie
4) Jugtown Pottery Saucer and Bowl (donated by NC NTHF Inductee Sarah Pratt)
5) Official NFL football autographed by former Cleveland Browns running back Travis Prentice #41 (now with Minnesota Vikings!)
6) Hummell figurine "Hear Ye! Hear Ye!"(donated by NTHF friend John Kuhn)
7) Two St. Christopher medals (donated by NJ NTHF Inductee Ron Foreso)
8) 2001 Duke National Championship basketball t-shirt and hat autographed by Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski
9) Lodging and show tickets in Branson, Missouri, including personal meeting with country music artist Mickey Gilley (donated by Missouri NTHF Inductee Debra Peppers)
10) Miniature schoolhouse built by NTHF Museum Curator Bill Samuelson
A complete list of the Internet items may be viewed after Nov. 5 by entering the Hall of Fame’s seller name on E-bay, elite_teacher.
Nearly 100 items or packages will be offered during the course of the radio auction on Nov. 15. Among the items on the block are weekend getaways to Omaha, Topeka, and Kansas City, vacation lodging from coast to coast, tickets to Disney World, airline tickets, artwork, jewelry and services ranging from car detailing to housecleaning.
