76 Students from across Kansas chosen for National Teachers Hall of Fame Honor Choir

EMPORIA, Kans. - The National Teachers Hall of Fame Honor Choir will perform July 13 during the 11th Annual Induction Ceremony in Emporia, Kansas.

Students from across Kansas were recommended by their vocal music teachers for the chorus, which will perform during the NTHF Induction Ceremony. The Honor Choir has been an integral part of the induction ceremony since its conception in 1992. The choir will provide an emotional conclusion to the induction ceremony through four songs: "Sing a Jubilant Song," "I Am But A Small Voice," "The Rhythm of Life," and "My Country 'Tis Of Thee." The 2002 NTHF Honor Choir will be directed by ESU Associate Professor Terry Barham for the fifth consecutive year.

Dr. Barham earned a master's degree from the University of Illinois and bachelor's and doctoral degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He has served as guest choral conductor and adjudicator at the high school and junior high/middle school levels in 15 states and has presented workshops and clinic sessions for ACDA state and regional conventions, the Music Teachers National Association national convention and MENC state conventions in Oklahoma, Arizona, California, Kansas, and Hawaii.

The 2002 Induction Ceremony will be held in Albert Taylor Auditorium, Plumb Hall, Emporia State University Campus July 13, 7:00-9:00 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge.
