The National Teachers Hall of Fame announced the formation and membership of their national Board of Trustees
The National Teachers Hall of Fame has announced the formation and the membership of their National Board of Trustees. The first meeting for the Board of Trustees was held on June 22 in Washington, D.C. The Board is composed of representatives from national education associations, corporate CEO's, and government policy makers. Their mission is to provide national awareness, vision, and direction for The National Teachers Hall of Fame.
The members of the newly formed Board of Trustees include the following: Dr. Joe Aguerrebere, President of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards; Rod Bond, President of Sodexho School Services; Bill Brock, Founder and Chairman of Bridges Learning Systems, Inc.; Dr. Anne L. Bryant, Executive Director of the National School Board Association; Dr. Constantine (Deno) Curris, President of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities; G. Thomas Houlihan, Executive Director of the Council of Chief State School Officers; Jim Hunt, Former Governor of the State of North Carolina; Dr. David Imig, President and CEO of the American Association of College for Teacher Education; Roberts T. Jones, President of the Education & Workforce Policy, LLC; Dr. Kathleen Madigan, President of the American Board of Certification of Teacher Excellence; Dr. Tes Mehring, Dean of the Teachers College at Emporia State University; Jerry Moran, Congressman of the 1st District of Kansas; Edward B. Rust, Jr., Chairman and CEO of the State Farm Insurance Companies; Dr. Ted Saunders, President of the Education Commission of the States; Dr. Kay Schallenkamp, President of Emporia State University; Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of the State of Kansas; and Joseph York, President of The National Teachers Hall of Fame.
