Congressman Moran to announce Exciting NTHF News on Friday

Kansas First District Congressman Jerry Moran will hold a news conference at 8:45 A.M. on Friday, August 17th, to announce some exciting news for The National Teachers Hall of Fame (NTHF).  The conference will be held in the atrium in Visser Hall on the Emporia State University campus.  This is the area adjacent to the new home of The National Teachers Hall of Fame, 114-115 of Visser Hall.  The public is invited to attend the news conference and the reception following.

Moran will be announcing the results of two years of effort in Washington D.C. to help the NTHF become a more visible national entity.  The Hall of Fame was established in 1989, and the first class of honored teachers was inducted in 1992.  Each year, five career teachers with twenty or more years of teaching from across the nation are selected by a national committee to be inducted.  There are currently eighty members, from a variety of teaching disciplines, representing 32 states and the District of Columbia.
