For her outstanding accomplishments as a first through eighth grade teacher, Anna is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by Marie Russell of Emporia, Kansas.

According to Marie:

Anna Fitzpatrick came to Emporia from Darrville, Kansas to go to college at the Normal.  After completing her courses she was hired to teach at District 45 in Olpe.  She taught in a new building which is now torn down.  It was located just west of the town.  She taught 8 grades, did all the janitorial services and abided by all the regulations (which were quite strict).

She was known to her students as Miss Anna.

In later years she did some substitute teaching at St. Joseph Catholic School in Olpe.

She was great supporter of education.  Two of her daughter and four grand-daughters have been or are teachers.

Anna taught for three years in a rural school located in Olpe, Kansas from 1922-1925.
