For his outstanding accomplishments as an administrator and school teacher Clem E. Payton is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by Faye Shaw.

According to Faye:

Mr. Payton is special to all who know him.  He is the type of person who brings out the best in everyone.  I have never heard him say an unkind word about anyone.  In fact, even as a school administrator, he reprimands and suggestions were done with such kindness they sounded like praise.

On his own, as an elementary supervisor, he organized hands-on workshops where teachers designed and made visual aids for their classrooms. The supplies and equipment were offered without cost to the teachers and greatly enhanced the learning atmosphere for the students.

Because of Mr. Payton, I went to college and became a teacher.  Due to his guidance and example I was chosen Florida Teacher of the Year in 1971.

Mr. Payton taught for 35 years.  He taught at Oskaloosa County in Crestview, FL from 1948-1983.  Mr. Payton taught 6th grade and high school social studies, and was an elementary school administrator.
