For her outstanding contributions as a rural school teacher, Gladys is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by Stephen Stockwell from Kanopolis, Kansas

According to Stephen:

She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees by attending summer school, night classes, Saturday classes, and correspondence. Her life ambition was to teach and she took time off to help raise her son.

Gladys was a rural school and elementary teacher for 32 years. She began her career in a one room schoolhouse. She taught in Kansas from 1933-1948 and 1958-1972.
