For his outstanding contributions as a school teacher and coach, James is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by Ruth Ethington.

The first reason that Jim is special to me is that he was my husband and friend for forty years. Jim’s enthusiasm and knowledge of sports helped to develop strong relationships between the players and himself.

Later in his role as a guidance counselor he offered a place where students could come an share their deepest concerns and aspiration in life.  He was privileged to enjoy two years of retirement before his death in June 1995.  I am proud he chose a teaching career and I know because of him, many students are making a positive impact in our society.

James A. Ethington taught for thirty-six years.  He was a coach and guidance counselor in the Westmoreland-Eudora-Wamego-Lebo school district from 1957-1993.  James also taught American History, Psychology, and Driver Training.
