For his outstanding contributions as a college level Spanish teacher, Lee is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by The Pat Tubach Family of Overland Park, Kansas.

The Tubach Family expresses that:

“In a grateful and loving recognition to a wonderful father and exceptional teacher- we dedicated the following words to you: Thank you for the high ideals to which inspired all who knew you with your deep dedication to family and students. You received many letters preceding and following your death. May we share these words as a tribute to an extraordinary man.

The words of colleagues—good friend, someone I admired, model teacher, favorite faculty member, well respected, pleasure to teach with, so proud of his family, such an effective teacher at all levels, special person, admired for his zest, always had such a professional approach…

The words of parents—so grateful to have as our child’s teacher, so kind, excellent teacher, one great person, so popular with his students, wonderfully fine, much appreciated, often a happy topic of family dinner conversation…

The words of students—vest teacher ever, loved talking to him, fair teacher, understanding, and inspiration to many, highlight of college days, a friend to the homesick and disheartened college students, voted favorite teacher at class reunions, made an impact, held in very high regard, made such a difference, incredible Spanish teacher, have never seen his equal in generating enthusiasm for learning, treated all with respect, expected student’s best, most interesting of all teachers, simply the best, like a father, made a difference in my life, humorous, remembered almost daily as I teach, when I teach you’re also teaching, a lot of who I am I owe to you, encouraged me, taught by example the enduring value of hard work and service to learners…

Your love and values continue to live within us all, whether they are taught in the home or in the classroom. As one young student wrote, “Thank you for being the best teacher, my most favorite teacher of the whole school and my friend.” Your God given gift for teaching will be carried on with great honor.

!Gracias con amor!”
