For his outstanding contributions as a friend of education Lowell is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by John Snyder of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lowell Milken, chairman of the Milken Family Foundation, is the driving force behind the National Educator Awards program, the single most significant program for teacher recognition in America.  For more than a quarter of a century, the National Educator Awards have been presenting individual teachers for almost every state in the union with much-deserved recognition and a no-strings-attached honorarium of $25,000.

Lowell has also been relentless in his efforts to improve the educational process in America, first through the Teacher Advancement Program, and then through the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching.  His efforts have been single-minded.  Every year, outstanding teachers are recognized and rewarded for their efforts.  Every year they are brought together at considerable expense for recognition, networking, and sharing of expertise.  Every year inroads are made in state education systems all over the country, improving quality improving retention, and improving accountability.

America is better for Lowell Milken.  Education is slowly but surely evolving into a system that will once again lead the world.
