For his outstanding accomplishments, Marvin is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by Jean Larson Damisch of Chicago, Illinois.

Marvin K. Larson is my brother. He is a Chemical Engineer graduate from Illinois Institute of Technology. Marvin was recently selected as a North Carolina Volunteer of the Year and was honored by the North Carolina Governor. He supports the field of education by visiting the Hendersonville area elementary schools four times a year to present the Terrific Kids Awards from the Kiwanis Club to children who have improved considerably in school and who have demonstrated citizenship. He tutors, as a volunteer, elementary school students in math, and he coaches junior high basketball and baseball. Marvin has worked as a volunteer in prison ministry at the Henderson County Correctional center since 1986. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Mercy House, an agency that helps unwed mothers during pregnancy. His life is DEDICATED TO HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE, even though he was not a full-time teacher like our mother.

Marvin says, “I really like working with kids. After all, I’m just a big kid at heart anyway.”
