National Teachers Hall of Fame announces Joseph S. York as President - (June 25, 2004) -- On June 25, 2004, Joseph S. York, a lifelong resident of Bartlett, Tennessee, assumed the duties as president of The National Teachers Hall of Fame. Mr. York has taught for thirty-eight years, most recently at the University of Memphis. He is the 1985 recipient of the Outstanding Tennessee Teacher Award from the University of Tennessee at Memphis, 1993 National Educator Award winner (Milken), and 1998 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Across Cultures Award.
