One in a Million

The “One In A Million – Teachers Who Make A Difference” is a nationwide initiative to collect the names of one million teachers who have made a difference in someone's life.  Anyone in America could place a teacher’s name into the National Teachers Hall of Fame’s (NTHF) archives with a minimum donation of one ($1) dollar. A nationally known celebrity will be identified to serve as the spokesperson with the goal of elevating the status of the teaching profession and, thus, changing the course of education for the future of America.

A national media campaign, led by The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), will have an immediate and far-reaching impact on the importance of teacher recognition, and the teaching profession in American culture.  PBS currently provides quality TV programming to 354 noncommercial stations serving all 50 states.  PBS and its member stations reach nearly 90 million people weekly.  The national media campaign will include television, radio and members of the press.   A PSA documentary will be the featured media event.
