The National Teachers Hall of Fame

The NATIONAL Registry of DISTINGUISHED Educators

Purpose: To create and disseminate a resource base of the most accomplished and recognized educators in the United States.

  • This is the first-time that information about nationally-recognized educators will be assembled and accessible in a single location.
  • The Registry will enable school districts, state agencies, government entities and national organizations to call on nationally-recognized educators for expert advice and assistance.
  • The Registry will be available on The National Teachers Hall of Fame website, and will be provided to key leaders in the U.S. Department of Education and education agencies in all 50 States, as well as to policy centers, education associations, newspapers and other significant publications.
  • Administrators and teachers who have been recognized for excellence by a national professional education organization will be eligible for membership in the Registry.
  • Candidates will verify their status as nationally-recognized educators before being accepted into the Registry.
  • Personal information, areas of expertise, and willingness to travel, speak, present, or serve will be provided by the member educators themselves.
  • There will be a one-time registration fee of $50.00 for lifetime membership. [This is waived for NTHF members]. Upon registration, each nationally-recognized educator will receive a certificate of membership in the Registry, and his or her school will be notified of this distinction.
  • Target date for launching the project is July 2015.
