For his outstanding contributions as a remedial reading teacher, Richard is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by Bob Coleman of Waterbury, Connecticut.
Dick has worked in an inner-city school for his entire career. He taught remedial reading in third through eighth grades at Kingsbury Elementary School in Waterbury, Connecticut, for thirty-one years. He retire din June 1995. He has always sought out the student most in need of his special talents. Those talents include a genuine caring approach to all he meets and a willingness to go far beyond what is required of him. Dick has had a profound and lasting impact on all those around him-both students and teachers.
Although Dick never taught in a one room schoolhouse, his room within the larger building exemplified all that made the one room schoolhouse so famous.
