For her outstanding contributions as a first grade teacher, Connie is recognized on the Donors’ Wall of Fame by Village School PTO of Emporia, Kansas.
Connie Jameson began her teaching career at Village Elementary School in 1976. Her long running career ended in retirement at the conclusion of the 2003-2004 school year. During her career at Village, Connie became famous, or perhaps infamous, for her passion for KU basketball and her tremendous sense of humor. She taught first grade throughout her entire career at Village Elementary School. Connie excelled at taking beginning readers with little reading skills and understanding to fluency over the course of the year. Connie Jameson’s great sense of humor was engaging to both her to colleagues and students. She could always take any situation, no matter how dire, and put a positive or humorous spin on it.
